Michelle Holden Photographer
Australian photographer Michelle Holden’s images capture a world of polished yet approachable femininity. Her visual vocabulary, honed over almost two decades in the industry, is one of sumptuous light-filled glamour inspired in part by her early years growing up surrounded by Sydney’s spectacular coastline.
Holden’s visual training began with a degree in design, during which she was seduced by the world of fashion photography, gravitating towards the work of seminal lensman Richard Avedon and Helmut Newton. She has since emerged as one of the industry’s most in demand figures contributing to international titles including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, InStyle, Condé Nast Traveller, Glamour, Cosmopolitan and Shape.
Increasing North American demand for her work led Holden to New York City, where she has been based for the last four years. Among her recent commercial clients are Covergirl, Speedo, Playtex, Berlei, Laura Ashley, Target, Neutrogena, Ray-Ban, Nordstrom and Australian department store Myer. An inveterate traveler, recent shoots have taken place in London, Paris, Spain, South Africa and Asia.
